Mary Jane Lapointe, J.D.

Mary Jane Lapointe is a seasoned trial attorney who has tried cases in both state and federal courts, as well as represented clients at hearings before administrative agencies. She routinely assists employees and employers in employment disputes, and has extensive experience in collective bargaining and union issues. In addition to her experience in labor and employment law, Mary Jane has handled complex litigation in many other areas, including partnership disputes, probate matters, litigation related to sales of businesses, and personal injury litigation. She was named one of Indiana's "Super Lawyers" for 2005, 2006 and 2007 and 2010. She is admitted to practice law in Indiana state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Indiana, and the U.S.Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Prior to entering the private practice of law, she was a judicial clerk for the Honorable V. Sue Shields, Indiana Court of Appeals. Mary Jane graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington, was inducted into the Order of the Coif, and served as the Executive Editor of the Indiana Law Journal. She received her B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Iowa, where she was awarded membership in Phi Beta Kappa.

Daniel Lapointe Kent, J.D.

Daniel Lapointe Kent is an associate with Lapointe Law Firm, P.C. Daniel grew up on the west side of Indianapolis, and attended North Central High School. He did his undergraduate studies at Indiana University, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy.

Daniel went on to Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis where he received his J.D. in May of 2007. He was admitted to practice law in the state of Indiana as well as in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northers Districts of Indiana, in October of 2007. In law school, Daniel focused his studies on general litigation, business transactions, and employment law. He is currently working in all these fields with Lapointe Law Firm, although his main focus has been personal injury and employment law.

Constance J. Gustafson, J.D., Of Counsel

Connie Gustafson concentrates her practice primarily in business law. She is experienced in a variety of complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, organization of new entities, corporate governance matters and securities and other capital formation transactions. Connie consults with business clients in evaluating the business as well as legal aspects of a potential opportunity, a complex problem or an everyday issue. She has represented public companies, closely-held businesses and organizations of varying size and complexity in between. Connie has represented and provided pro bono services for many nonprofit organizations, including assisting them in obtaining tax exempt status.

Connie was the principal draftsman of the Indiana Business Corporation Law and participated in drafting the Nonprofit Corporation Law, Limited Liability Company Act, Limited Liability Partnership Act and Limited Partnership Act. As Chairman of the Indiana Corporate Law Survey Commission for more than twenty years, she was regularly consulted on developments in business laws around the country and testified before committees of the Indiana General Assembly.

Connie is admitted to practice in the State of Indiana and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Prior to entering the private practice of law, Connie was Corporations Director and a Deputy Securities Commissioner for the Indiana Secretary of State. Connie graduated from Indiana University School of Law and received her B.A. from Indiana University.

Philip J. List, J.D.

Philip is an associate at Lapointe Law Firm. He did his undergraduate studies at Indiana University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. In May 2009, Philip graduated from the University of Dayton School of Law and was admitted to practice in the State of Indiana in October, 2009.

In law school, Philip was active with many organizations and held important leadership positions. He was Vice President of the Moot Court Board, a finalist at the Walter H. Rice Moot Court Competition, a participant in the Rendigs National Products Liability Competition, and a member of the Honor Council. He focused much of his study in the areas of general civil litigation, medical malpractice litigation, appellate practice, and employment litigation. He is currently working in all of these areas at the firm.
